Alliances and Networks

The Alliances Programme focuses on building deeper and more structured partnerships rooted in shared values and long-term commitment. These alliances are conceived not as transactional collaborations but as ethical relationships based on mutual respect, solidarity and a common commitment to safeguarding the dignity of people experiencing homelessness and destitution. Under this programme, two collectives have been formed. The first is a national level alliance, while the second operates at the city level in Mumbai.

-National Alliance for Dignity and Inclusion (NADI)

The National Alliance for Dignity and Inclusion (NADI) is a collective that brings together like-minded organisations from across the country. At present, ten organisations from eight states are part of this alliance. The collective seeks to strengthen responses not only to homelessness but a range of marginalities by enabling coordinated support, especially in cases where individuals need assistance across different states or regions. One of its important objectives is to ensure timely rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals into family, society and economy. Member organisations also contribute to strengthening each other’s capacities by sharing knowledge, institutional experience and specialised expertise.

-City-Level Alliance

Alongside this national collective, a city level alliance in Mumbai has also been established, bringing together organisations working on homelessness within the city and its peripheries. Currently six organisations are part of this collaborative platform. The alliance works towards strengthening rehabilitation services for homeless individuals in Mumbai and surrounding regions by enabling organisations to coordinate their efforts, resources and respond more effectively to complex cases.

Together, these national and city level alliances represent an effort to build collective systems of care and support that extend beyond individual organisations. By working in partnership and solidarity, these alliances aim to create more sustained and dignified routes for individuals moving out of destitution and towards stable and meaningful lives.
